Welcome to my home page. I am a fantasy writer and sometimes poet.

Ascension of Peary is now available at Amazon as a paperback and a Kindle book.

The story begins in a remote valley, mysteriously guarded by an obscuring fog. Our heroine, a 17 year old girl, has acquired an urge for traveling, and her mother sets her up to leave in secret. Their village has a number of  officious old ladies who would interfere if they knew. So she heads off through the woods as she has planned, and is surprised when confronted by one of the old ladies. With surprise piled on surprise, she discovers the truth of her past and the scope of her future, including her acquisition of magical powers, as she enters her real world far away from the protected valley.

This is her story as she rises to her destiny and grows into the position she has always been meant to hold. I hope you will join her.

And you might like one of my satiric poems or one of my serious poems, to show that fantasy is not my only vice in writing.

Darkness at Solstice

The night carries on as if unaware
That time has slowed nearly to a stop
As solstice approaches and darkness lies
Upon the snow where icy chunks sit tall

That time has slowed to a stop nearby
None can quarrel with the sky or
Upon the snow where icy chunks sit tall
Until daylight creeps over eastern walls

None can quarrel with the sky or
Night in its pride hold court
Until daylight creeps over eastern hills
And wakes with the golden lightening

Night in its pride holds court
Among the clouds and hollow streets
And wakes with golden lightening
Before winter’s snow arrives

Among the clouds and hollow streets
The night carries on as if unaware
Before winter’s snow arrives
As solstice approaches and darkness dies

Republican Double Dactyl

Rumplety pumplety

Hunting in morning fog
Shot friend for sport

Heart attacks tickled him
Cardiotherapy
War crimes and torturing
Send him to court!

Good morning! WordPress notified me that you liked my comment on Tara’s blog, and suggested I visit you to see if I liked your work. I do. I’m a writer myself, and have found it the most rewarding thing I’ve ever done. Oh, I’m not a BIG writer like King or Rowling, but I have the fun of creating and exploring new worlds, sharing them with a handful of fans, and leaving this legacy to my grandkids that they can hold in their hands and share. Even if it’s just a glorified hobby, it’s a hard one to beat. I hope you continue on, and have a great time with it!
